I had signed up for an EA newsletter a while back. Well today I got a request in my email to take an SSX survey. I figured it would be cool to help out, so I load it up. Then something strange happened. After the first couple of questions about SSX Tricky, every question after that was about brand name cars and what I thought of each of them. Yyyyyeahhh.... Now I see what's going on.

*Survey window gets closed*

Very clever, but I can smell spam cooking well enough to bail on that one!

Like we really needed to hear that FBX. *shakes head* (we need a emoticon for that!). lol j/k :heh

Anyways, why would people now start using SSX as part of a scam? That's not good at all. Do you know who sent it to you (like was it EA?)?

I think what it was is a paid agreement from a survey company. I looked at the address that the survey was on and it certainly wasn't an EA site. Rather, the survey was masked as an SSX survey in order to hide that fact that it was in reality a car-spamming survey. It asked all sorts of question about how I "think" about certain brands of cars and what car comes to my mind first when thinking of "active-lifestyle". You know, the kind of info that gets turned into those annoying car commercials during NFL games.

I posted this as a warning to watch out for masked survey spams.

Hmm, neither have I. All my spam is very forward- it tells me right out whether it's porn, financial debt aid, or, ah, endowment enlargement stuff.
