God it fucking sucks. There was absolutely no reason for the change. It had all 4 in SSX 3, but not in this one. We got so ripped off.

If you set your controls to Trick Stick Pro you have access to all four grabs on the Right Analog stick. It works pretty well.

Oh I guess I'm new. I lurked a bit for SSX 3 and downloaded a bunch of Master Runs. Cool site. I like the new game so far, at least from a pure gameplay standpoint.

edit: Oh I guess you might have problems hitting two ways on the analog stick at the same time.

Welcome, capnlarge. :)
But the problem with the trick stick pro is that IF you want to do grabs after you have your boost filled, my understanding is that you can't and you can only do monsters.

No to do monsters on pro you have to pull one of the triggers. If you use the Right Analog without the triggers you can still grab/tweak with a full boost meter.

I bought this game on XBOX cuz I thought it'd have custom soundtracks, damn I wish I'd bought the PS2 version instead. I should've read the back of the box. :(

Really? Well, I'll have to try that tonight. That could make it worth it to use.

I was going to do the Village stuff but while I was finishing up the game over the weekend Royank mentioned he was working on that (and now done), so I haven't hit anything yet. I'm probably not the person for course walkthroughs, but I'll take the CAC section if no one has already. Or anything else that doesn't involve a walkthrough.

Royank's done the stuff you can buy for the CAC too, but without descriptions (though I'm not sure you wanna tackle that again after the beanies lol!). At this point, what I need now is course and shred walkthroughs (some of the shreds are so easy you could do several Fisheye even if you don't play very much). Boast locations (which I think someone might be doing) and that sort of thing I need too. Take a look at the guide update I'm going to do today and you'll see what the guide needs, and thanks for the help. :)

I could do descriptions (hey, at least there aren't 1000 beanies this time around :lol ) but I was actually referring to this section:
Quote:
a. Creating A Character [CharacterCAC]
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Coming soon!

Unless you were planning on filling that in yourself.

Oh I've played enough, I'm just not sure I'm the right person for walkthroughs. No doubt you remember my old Megaplex and Merqury City write-ups from Tricky. :heh But I'll see what I can do and try to limit myself to less than a page each. (j/k! ...sort of :P )

Oh, if you wanna type in an in-depth guide, by all means, go ahead. Right now, I just have a paragraph of introduction in there. It can for sure be filled out.

:heh Dude, DaRizat wrote me a guide, and I put it in in full form. So go ahead, be wordy. The guide's already so huge that making the guides longer than normal isn't going to hurt anything.

After I format Royank's lists of items, I'll put it out for display tonight. After I get a few more guides, I will send it to gamefaqs.

Does the FAQ _really_ need all those item listings? I mean, they are available from the beginning; just go to the shop and you can see the prizes and stats... Honestly, what's the chance that someone will find that useful?

and if it wasn't there, people would ask for an item list....

faq writing, at times, it like a double edged sword. :lol

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff you document because it's a "front to back" FAQ and covers everything, even if it's lame. :heh Odds are someone will look at that and realize they've missed something or haven't gotten something and can go back and find out how to get the item they missed.

For what it's worth, I always put that crap at the BACK of the guide so you can get to the meaty stuff first.

Well not really. Yes you have all four grabs, but there is no way to combine them.

Gondee I didnt explain what I meant by '+ 1/4 C'
I meant: turn right analog one quarter clockwise.
That will tweak the grab.

Yeah I figured that hence the ninja edit. It's stupid. Why oh why didn't I buy the PS2 version? Someone should read reviews before rushing out and assuming the XBOX version is better. :mad

Are there more tricks than the seatbelt if you quarter circle? It seems like there could be 7 more tricks that way, just like there are 12 monster tricks on the right analog.

edit: Okay playing around in free ride I think I've found all the trick stick grabs. There's still 5 missing grabs and their tweaked versions though, but I guess you get Indy and Sinful Indy on Pro whereas you don't normally.

Trick Stick Pro Grabs

r-analog up - stalefish
r-analog right - nose grab
r-analog down - indy
r-analog left - mute
r-analog up/right - method
r-analog down/right - Spaghetti Air
r-analog down/left - Seatbelt
r-analog up/left - tailgrab

Note: To tweak slide the right analog 1/4 circle in any direction. eg: To turn a method into a method madness slide the right analog from up/right to down/right.

Trick Stick Pro Tweaked grabs

r-analog up (Stalefish) Filet O'Stalefish
r-analog right (Nosegrab) Nosebleed
r-analog down (Indy) Sinful Indy
r-analog left (mute) Mutation
r-analog up/right (method) Method Madness
r-analog down/right (Spaghetti) Meatballed Spaghetti
r-analog down/left (Seatbelt) Buckled Seatbelt
r-analog up/left (Tailgrab) Tail Wag

Actually, that post he had nothing wrong with the first part, it just didn't put up the quote boxes for some reason.

And I did notice all grabs have 1000 points. I don't know about the tweaked grabs though.
