DAMAGED GAME...WTF!!!!

My SSX Tricky file corrupted 7 or 8 times. The cool thing is, everytime I tried to get my records again I always ended beating them all.

The first step to avoid corruption is turning off that awful auto-save "feature". I would assume everyone turned it off after 10 minutes of playtime, but maybe they didn't know how. The more times the game writes to memory card, the higher the chance of corruption.

It also helps to have a backup, of course.

Thanks this is helpful. i've started ssxot over about 10 times due to damaged saves. at first i thought it was because i wasn't shutting down the right way it's kinda strange that when i select QUIT it reboots the game back to the tour map bypassing the character selection and all.

i quit from the menu and then hold the PS2 console button down until the drive stops. Does anyone know/remember if that's the right way to stop playing ssx ot?
