Hey folks, the team pushed out some tweaks to Global Events yesterday based on your feedback. These will be slowly taking effect as the old events end and are replaced with new ones. It should be sorted by the end of today in time for the weekend. Here are the highlights:

-we've decreased the rollover of all the events from every 24hrs to 12hrs to keep events 'fresher'

-we've decreased the overall amount of 3-2-1-GO Events, replacing some events with longer-duration Global Events

-we've changed minimum Heat Cost for 3-2-1-GO Events to start at 50,000 credits rather than Free. The free events felt overly sticky.

-we've balanced out Trick 3-2-1-GO Events to have a few more Standard settings vs Hyper

-we've pointed the Feature Range of the Day to good drops that are not on the Event Peak (ie. Don’t Make Me, Lockjaw etc.) to try and encourage players to try some new drops

-we've tuned restrictions, decreasing the number of L6 restrictions on races

-we've added one 5,000,000 Race/Trick/Survive Global Event that will change to new drops with every rollover

Feedback welcome as always. Enjoy!

Awesome!

My favourite style of global events are 15 minute duration with 1,000,000+ drop cost (Race it). I just wanted to say this as I haven't found any like this for a few weeks. High competition and intensity.

Good for reducing the number of 3-2-1-Go events. I was actually thinking this the other day... even if there was only 1 3-2-1-Go event at any one time, at least then there would be people in it!

Yes the free events were way too sticky, I was playing them because no one was in the higher stake 3-2-1's... but I got bored really fast when I was beating everyone by 30 seconds every race.

Will the Feature Range of the Day always be on non event peaks now?

Thanks! :)

You guys are so awesome that I'm wondering if it's all some sort of diabolical plan to take over our minds or something, lol... seriously what do you want from us! Not one game I've ever played had developers that were so in tune with the community.

Thanks again Todd :cheers

It's not a drastic change, there simply aren't enough players to fill even close to the number of 3-2-1's we had running and an empty 3-2-1 event plugs up a global event slot that a few players could dip in/out of over the course of 12 hrs for some actual competition.

Also, with mostly 3-2-1's everywhere players always seem to be gathering at the exact same tracks. While we don't want to push anyone to the extreme difficult tracks, there are some really great events we think everyone will enjoy on other peaks and this in combination with the 12hr switch might help move players around a bit more.

If it seems there are too few we will continue to tweak and adjust until we find the right balance. Think of it like an open beta test. :)

I've been away for a few days ... came back today and spent a good 3 hours on Punch Up / Bear Claw/ Serenity / Fast Forward/ Dont Make Me/ Fall From Grace / Evil Genius ..... ie - a good mix of 321s and GEs.... had a great time. Won 45m on Evil Genius!
These changes really make sense. Thanks a lot.

+1 for pointing players to backcountry peaks, theres a ton of good tracks that I rarely see players on because it's always on the event peaks.

Maybe try some kind of a Weekend Challenge thing where you could point players to tracks like One Step Ahead and that crazy one with all the foggy pits in NZ.

I'm just throwing it out there, it could be seen as overkill. And this is not to say that I don't love everything that you've added :D

Off topic: Are there plans to unlock lvl12 and start a double XP weekend ? :) I'm actualy starting to miss leveling up...

This just made my day. I noticed this this morning on Evil Genius and I was super stoked. Now, I am super stoked +1 that this will be an all the time thing.

Indeed :yes

Don't Make Me & Lockjaw are soooo over-looked in the public GE's.
