Well the trailer was good but Square seem to always make amazing trailers and then boring characters and lame gameplay. If its anything like 13 it'll be another meh I will buy it then play half way through, lose interest and go back to playing something else.

ERMAGAWD, Lightning Returns looks pretty awesome.

i am quite confused on the whole series now. there is XIV, and now XV. then you got Lightning Returns, and then i heard about this XIII Versus. Da Fuq? Also, will LR be on PS3 only or both PS3/PS4. because it will be the last FF on PS3.

But, my question goes even deeper. Can someone explain to me what the heck Final Fantasy is about? Are the stories from I to XV related? I always thought they were separate stories but for some reason X to XIII seem to be one continuous story, amirite? But, people recognize the characters.

I really don't get it for the life of me, and I've only played Final Fantasy X up to a point where I had no clue how to beat some kind of whale looking monster thing. It looks like they want to get rid off the turned based roleplay gaming to more action RPG.

Emu, none of the FF stories are related, unless they follow the numbering format of, for example "FFX-2" is related to X.
The "Whale looking monster thing" ( ) could only be beaten by ranged attacks. So Wakka's ball, or magic.

The reason I loved FF12 so hard was because they removed the crappy turn based battle system. I would love to see FF more action based because the whole RPG style of walking through grass, fight scene and then attacking in turn just ruins FF for me. The graphics and the motion picture is far to epic to be dragged down by RPG style battling.

I know that's the POINT of FF, but Pokemon does it better, FF would be so much more amazing if it's fighting gameplay was more like Zelda or God of War.

Yeah. I figured. I'm a very tiny minute minority, I am well aware of that. I'm the only person in the world I think that dislikes the FF series but loves FF12 and has it as one of my favourite games ever, probably right below Ocarina of Time. I could gush about it all day.

The rest of the series? Interesting characters, great worlds, good storyline. Can't stand the battle system.

Honestly, I liked 12 too. It's not that I love the turn-based system, but I don't think it's crappy. I'm sure that whatever the team does, it'll be good. Just stop milking 13 please...

Being a KH fan, I'm definitely excited to try a FF that plays more like it. Nothing against turn-based, though.

Speaking of, KH3 is being developed by the Osaka team. I guess that explains why they could show both that and FFXV. Also, a neat little tidbit: Nomura said that their shader(s?) will be adjusted for each Disney world. That should be awesome.

The XV gameplay looks pretty good so far. One thing that stuck out to me was the allies. I like how they interact with Noctis in battle and actually act like his friends, high-fiving him and whatnot.

I loved 12. I'm not much of a fan of the turn based RPG's...at least when it comes to FF. I did like the way Rainbow moon was set up though.
