I haven't been playing SSX recently because of the boredom it brings from the lack of players. So it leaves me asking the question...Where is everyone? I'm tired of getting on and only seeing about 6 people doing race events and maybe 25 to 50 at best in trick it events. It's to early for this game to die already.

I've gotten bored for a bit. Not sure when I'll play again but I will be back on Playing Max Payne 3 at the moment

I think it's a couple of things. The way the ge's are set up where there's only a handful events is a big factor. People want to be able to compete on their favorite tracks and they can't do that anymore. Well, they could...in a custom event...that pretty much no one will join.

Another reason is that the luster has worn off. People are bored with ge's. I know I am. I'm tired of always competing against ghost so I've kinda stopped playing. DLC is the only thing that's gonna get me back into it. Maybe level 12 but that would be fleeting.

Since I know real MP is out of the question....if I could at least participate in the events I like, then I would be more inclined to fire it up every now and then instead of once in a blue moon.

I havn't played because i've gotten a bit bored plus some other games like Dragon's Dogma, Max Payne 3 and such have all caught my interest here lately.

Simply put I've got nothing to do on it . I'm just waiting for the next DLC to enjoy and/or for them to fix online.

I dunno, I still do GEs every day because I love SSX, but it gets really annoying to see a whole bunch of events shut down, plus it seems that the majority are Trick Its, which I don't care about at all.

Playing other games at the moment, its as simple as that. All games need a break now and then so SSX is on the back burner for the moment. They need to bring out some new DLC to freshen it up, and I mean tracks, not just some crazy outfits and boards.

Still playing everyday on and offline as I still need to finish everything - need more custom events to join to get that medal and the Double XP weekend track seems to be getting a few peole in.

It might bring people back if all the tracks were open in Global but still keep doing the big money events as well.

DLC is always welcome but its possibly true that mutiplayer will bring the challenge back and the crowds

I still play every day but not anywhere near as much GE's as i used to. I got really tired of setting new personal bests and not being able to reproduce them in explore. That and until we get lvl 12 or something else to spend money on i don't really see the need to keep increasing my funds so much and of course the whole negative thingggy....

I rarely play in Global Events nowadays, I just play on Explore mode. I haven't played in a while recently as I've got back into playing GTA IV. I just fired up Episodes from Liberty City about a week ago after owning it for over a year without playing it and I'm having a blast with it again.

The replay value of GE aren't that big, to be fair. I don't need more credits, and if I want competition I rather challenge a few rivals' scores on Explore. The genuine thing that makes me come back to the game is to freeride the drops, exploring alternate routes and testing different board levels.

Yeah, the OMG MOAR CREDITZ hype wore off for me. And I'd be hard-pressed to top many of my current times without starting some heavy wingsuit usage everywhere. So yeah, I don't have nearly as much drive as I did before.

Granted, I haven't touched a video game at all in like a week or two because of summer classes and general tiredness.

If I play, I'd rather play Explore because it the scores are more permanent and meaningful than gaining more credits.

It's quite fun to play it every so often and set some scores, I don't really have any desire to play Global Events though.

I still play an hour or two a day to try snag more Survival records.
That's about it for me though.

No real sense of progression to the single player mode. I was "done" really quickly with SSX 2012, platinum trophy and all. With Tricky and SSX3 it felt like I was never really done and constantly had something to aim for.

Global Events have very little attraction for me at this point due to how few people are playing in them and I have plenty of credits so there is no motivation there. GEs feel more like practice for Explore to me where your personal bests actually mean something since they stick. Its annoying setting a new record in a GE and then having to try and do it again in Explore IMO I still play a few GE here and there, but I stick to Explore now for the most part.

Having said all that, I am still having a blast with the game even though I have slowed down a bit with my playing finally Work/life has also played a big part in my not being able to play as much as I would like lately, but I am still getting on 3-4 times a week, but usually only have time for shorter sessions. Still have lots to do with racing in particular as I really just started getting into the wingsuit a few weeks ago. Still loving trick it as well which is where I still spend most of my time it seems. I really have not had much interest in finishing up things for the platinum, but at some point I will probably want to do that......yeah, still lots to do!

All in all, I am a bit surprised I am still playing the game since I have never had a game that has held my interest this long........not even close actually (I am not a big gamer in general though). Hoping we get some more DLC at some point and some sort of update with some new tweaks/changes. No HUD in particular would really be awesome from my perspective as it would motivate me to get away from the competition mentality and just enjoy the drops without caring about time/scores.

I'm SO annoyed, when I FINALLY get a chance to do GE's, the community has died

I think a huge part of the decline in popularity has to do with the absolutely awful pacing.

Think back to SSX3. You know every inch of every single track in there, don't you? That's because it gave you those tracks in little bites. When you started out you had Snow Jam, Metro City, R&B, Disfunktion Junction, Happiness, and Crows Nest. That's 6 right off the bat, one of them being the 'boss' levels that you unlock later. That's a great amount of choices for what you want to do, made sure they were at your skill level, and were given to you in small enough doses where you learn the courses. Most action, adventure, and RPG games follow this same formula. They know that they have a ton of content, but giving it to the player all at once will just dull the whole and make it more frustrating and less memorable. This doesn't just apply to courses, but also the gear and characters.

Now go to 2012. We have... what, 90something drops? And they're all available right at the start? They're not even labeled in a way to distinguish which ones we should do in terms of difficulty. It's the kind of reaction you get if you just handed over a controller to your fully unlocked save file on SSX3 to someone who hasn't played it; they'd have no idea what to do and would likely get their ass kicked and not want to play it again.

tl;dr make us earn content.

GE's have lost their re-playability (imo). GE's are good for trick/survive it events but a real time multiplayer for racing is needed. Race GE's for me, are utterly pointless.

Other annoyances like the store, leveling system, No GE's on my fave tracks and general lack of players put me off putting the disc into my PS3

Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is amazing but they way they have organized the online and item aspect of the game is a little meh...

Also: Getting back into Team Fortress 2, Max Payne 3 on PC and Ultimate Team on FIFA doesnt help

I believe the problem with GEs kind of goes hand-in-hand with the amount of different tracks there are in the game. Considering there's like 160+ tracks you can jump into and maybe like 100-200 active players at any given moment playing online, you never really find anyone. This game definitely needs a lobby system and local/online multiplayer to maintain longevity because right now it ain't got it.

DLC's only a temporary solution, because it'll bring people back but as soon as they get bored of the track we'll be right back to where we are. Personally I'd also like to see an expansion to World Tour with customizable AI difficulty so that we can race against AI for funsies as opposed to being forced to beat friends times and stuff.

It's because of the way the events are. It only counts people who joined per event.

Back in the day, you had events that would last for a week or so and thus it would say 3,000 or even 10,000 players in a single events. Now you have those short 5-30 min events that only show 50 players. But, in general it's still the same amount of people.
