I don't see what anyone could possibly be looking so hard for that would warrant a refresh button. You don't need a Legendary Board to max out your stats. A normal L10/11 speed/rocket board supplemented with a boost bonus suit, character speed/boost bonus, and some mods is more than enough. If you can't find that Legendary Glowing Suit you're looking for...oh well. It's not the end of the world.

Agreed MdX. Its legendary for a reason. If you get lucky, then good for you. If not, oh well.

My advice would be play the game and look for stuff to buy before each event you do. Trust me, it's more fun that way/ how it was meant to be played

It's like booster packs with TCGs. Sometimes you might get a super mega hologram foil limited edition Blastoise, other times you'll get nothing!

i swear if theres like 180+ recolors, i only see a good 30 of them because no matter how much i refresh, the shop HARDLY gives me a color that doesn't look like my character got dressed in a dark closet while drunk.

i agree that the shop is annoying.. but do you all really need to get that worked up? Sorry you can't get every board you want within an hour, shouldn't this be fun?? Giving you something to keep searching for..?? I suppose you'd rather just have everything RIGHT NOW and be done with the game. Take your time and enjoy the runs, give yourself something to look forward to. Politely ask for change, and possibly.. Just possibly, you will receive it.

I vote for release of "SSX: Noob Edition". Rare boards and gear aren't rare anymore, because you can just buy whatever the hell you want at any time with your infinite funds. There's nothing cool or special about uncovering something awesome because you didn't have to search for it, it was just handed to you like a sucker to a baby. You also start out at level 11 because it seems people hate having to actually play the game.

Im happy for the shop to stay pretty much how it is.

All I wish for are larger thumbnails or full image preview option for the boards so you can see the whole design before you buy (or at least in the View More tab once youve bought it)

There are only 4 options when you enter the store. It would be nice if this was expanded as the window is only across half the screen so why not have upto 8 store slots to choose from. You have to pay credits to reach level 11 so why not charge credits to expand the shop for every extra item slot.

It can be annoying to find the mod or item you need/want sometimes but its a big game, just play and enjoy, when you find what you want, buy it quick with all the money youve earned

I personally Hate the people who think the gear and board stats are EVERYTHING! yes i understand board designs are a different matter but you seriously need to get a life if you think you need top tier gear to compete within the diamond bracket.....you can quite often comfortably enter platinum with a level 5 board, let alone the level 11 ones....

this also goes for the nubs who also only use either Alex and Psymon for race events and mac and eddie for trick JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE +15 SPEED or +15 trick!!!!!! IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT MUCH!

As FKuPAYme and others have pointed out, just enjoy the runs! at the end of the day the gear doesn't really matter that much

Also this is not necessarily aimed at many of you wanting a refresh button, but the people who care about the stats this much know who they are

Sorry DashKiller, I'm not too keen on that idea. Regardess of cost, I'd be going out and in just like now to avoid the cost. If there's a cheaper way to do something, I suspect many people will take it even if it's a bit tedious.


Absolutely. I avoid buying gear for characters unless absolutely necessary because then it starts filling the shop with that kind of gear.

And giving all race boards on a race drop would lessen the frustration a little. Who on earth is going to buy a trick board when they are about to start a race? Actually, we all would, because we know it's probably never going to appear again.

I don't really agree with anything you said. Gear and Board stats and perks are important if you are trying to have "fun" by being competitive with your friends and beat their times/scores.

Quite comfortably get into platinum with a 5 board? Maybe for Trick Its, but Race It, unlikely. Also, who would want to just say screw the shop, I want to use only mediocre gear. The point of this game and almost all games is leveling up and getting better stats or gear to help advance in the game. Final point on this little section, that's pretty egotistical to say that you have no problem getting platinum with junk gear, that's cool for you, no one else.

Your statement on everyone using Psymon, Mac, or Eddie is completely arbitrary. Just because the few people that post videos may use them doesn't mean everyone does. Also with this, stats from characters and mods and stuff help quite a lot. I don't know where you are getting that data from.

Final thing. So you're saying this complaint wasn't about the people wanting a refresh button, but just better gear? Almost everyone who wants a refresh button or is frustrated about the current system is because they want a quicker chance to get better gear. The final comment is just a hypocritical statement for disagreeing with everyone who wants a refresh button.

I apologize to everyone for making a big deal out of this and fading away from the topic, but I thought that comment was just not worth being posted.

I agree with you on this. Instead of having a store of limitless gear, I think they should just increase the size of options to like 6 or 8. I like the mystery of dropping 4 mill. on an unknown board. Most of the time I will never use it, but it makes it so much better when you actually get the board you were looking for.

Outside of that comment, I also like not being able to get everything I want at once. The more you play, the better chances you have to get the gear you so much desired. There is always that hope right before you go in the shop and it's exciting when you see the 4.5 mill board available regardless of what it is.

That's exactly the attitude that stops us from thinking of a better shop. Why just tell people to deal with it when we could have it so much better?

My idea of playing the game is trying to win global events and setting new records, which I can't do without the best boards, and thus I can't find good stuff as I go.

I shouldn't have to consciously put myself in a different mindset, and try and play the game a way I don't want to. If it takes that much energy from the player for the shop to "work", then that just goes to show how flawed it is.

See that would be funny, except that the game is structured in such a way that not having the best characters and not having the best gear isn't fun. It's not like SSX3 where when you start a new character you have a fun campaign to go through. In this game, if I start a new character right now, I'm playing in a world map where almost every run has top tier times set, which can only be beated with a lvl 10-11 character with a legendary board. The only challenging thing is the 1 or 2 global events with level caps, but even then a lvl 11 character can jump in with better mods and have better odds of winning.

So I'm really just stuck until that character is lvl 11 with a legendary board. Getting there is a fucking grind.

Awesome ideas Yeti and I completely agree with you. I would love to have enlargeable thumbnails or the option to view your stuff in a larger size. I want to see these pretty boards we all made. At the moment, you only see a tiny image of half the board and a glimpse of it on the cutscenes/in game.

One of the very few things I nagged about in my fan review on the latest Ubercast. After all the time and effort people here on Merq and other fans spent on creating awesome graphics I AT LEAST want a decent chance so see them.

Cool Idea ! Then we could also have the "SSX: L33T Edition". Cheapest board would cost 1 million and the store only show a single gear item which doesn't change until you buy it. Of course, only by placing in the diamond bracket would earn you any profit because if you don't diamond, you clearly are not skilled enough to enjoy this fine game.
