Lord, that run reminds me of how much I suck at racing.. How do all of you find all these selects?? Is it just like FBX did in the old days?? Just press select in random places to see what shoots you ahead??

Racers have that instinct :heh seriously i know of atleast two selects on each track..

thanks everyone :yes

i dont use monsters because i think you lose a little time when in the air because of the slow mo effect :poke or it seems that way anyway.

Well then you're greatly mistaken. Since the animations for monsters are too fast for anything other than slo-mo, the clock slows down with you. Ands there's no slo-mo for rail monsters anyways. Just watch Titan's vids.

Mmm...I don't think he is wrong. Monsters slow time down more in Freestyle than in racing, but regardless, the slowdown in mid-air is considerable and it is much, much faster to simply rely on the first level of boost than waste the time in mid-air doing Monsters just to build your boost bar up a little faster.

But still, there's definately no slo-mo for monster rails, and many other people have won events without having to worry about slo-mo.

Again, watch Titan's vids.

Winning events isn't really the issue, it's trying to come up with as fast a time as possible. The monsters slow your character down more than it slows time down and the amount of boost you gain from that uses up more total time than the boost you gain is worth.

I don't think filling up your boost bar in racing is worth it in the end, since all you have to do is crash once and it's back to a regular boost bar that depletes anyway.

The clock doesn't slow down at all when in a race event. Ubers are useless in racing.

There are many obvious ones in this game... I know so many already, it's ridiculous.

I know, but you can still do monster rails without it 'tarding your run.
