Hi Lord Elevation,

It seems as if Uncle Sam is overtaxing everyone these days. Perhaps, though, it not is Uncle Sam, but merely a group of unsavory characters in government who masquerade by the former name to pocket money for themselves. I shouldn't be surprised, as governments, when left to their own devices, can succumb to the temptation of monetary corruption. As a person who believes in God, I find the landscape which Christians will dwell in after death as far superior to any this one has to offer, but, at least for now, I am dutibound by both Scriptural and Federal Law to respect authority.

Bottom line: Paying taxes is taxing (pun intended), but everyone has to do it.

Take care,
QP

Hi SokSareth, I agree that the Nazis tried to use the poor economic situation of Germany as a means of climbing to power and establishing a dictatorship, but, as Georgio Agamben explains in his State of Exception, the Nazis had to suspend the German Constitution completely in order to establish totalitarian control. Consequently, groups despised by Nazis, such as Jews (blamed for attaining wealth while, simultaneously, impoverishing non-Jewish German citizens), are reduced to what a critic described on the back of Agamben's Homo Sacer as Homo Sacers, or people "who can be killed" when the writ of habeus corpus is suspended and "yet cannot be sacrificed" when the constitution is operating. It should be duly noted that Agamben's Homo Sacer also notes that the people can be held accountable for moral approbations committed in constitutional vacuum; the Nuremberg Trials makes this point transparent. It proves universality in morality and, as a result, demonstrates undeniable proof for God's Existence. In the United States, people are anxious about what could happen if the American Constitution is suspended and what transpired in Gernmany gives them good reason to worry. As a result, I do not think that the United States will fall into the same trap that Germany did.

Take care,
QP
