In the meantime you're probably relaying email, just watch your internet bandwidth usage.

Hey, don't laugh with me, it's not funny....

well, maybe a little. :heh
Now I gotta check my email and so on on my dads pc, and since I almost let mine kinda crash of slowness, he doesn't trust me anymore.
But that's ok. I wouldn't trust myself either.

What I don't get is why you don't try and fix it. If you're ready to reinstall Windows, it wouldn't hurt to just run Combofix or Smitfraudfix, even if you can't be arsed to post a HJT log and ask someone experienced about it. From what you've described it seems like a smitfraud type of infection.

just because I know him and let me tell you this.
he can't download those programs (bad internet connection)
can't use those programs either ^^
and since the exams are coming and he has something better to do then mess with his pc ^^ (and so do I)
is this an answer ?? :cheers

ps: crisp had the same problem and he had to rebuilt the pc, and since Braveslash is Mr Lazybones himself, he won't do that either ^^

hey, you're saying things around my back=> don't.
I DID download smitfraudfix, and it got rid of all the spyware on my pc (including my wallpaper?!?), but it didn't matter, It made no difference.
And bennie: I DO know how to run programs, I CAN download them, and the exams are 2 weeks from now. If you think I'm already studying, think again.

BTW: You wouldn't rebuild your computer either. In fact, you're even a bigger lazybones as me.

I know :(
And now, even THAT problem has escalated.
No matter what I do, Ijust don't seem to get connection.
I tried to restore my connection for 5 times, bought a mega-antenne (10dB instead of 2)
to strenghten my signal (no luck), and tried to change the channel of my router.
but my IP adress isn't what it's supposed to be. Thanks to my parents, who chose a cheap-but-very-unreliable provider, which seems to change my IP adress :err
in short: the problems have only just begun....
why does it always happen to meee?!?!

I'd just try to reset your modem.
If that doesn't work, try to reset your router and then reset your modem.

my dad doesn't let me do that :(
he's afraid I'm gonna mess it up again.
Anyways, I think I found the problem, in a very silly way...
I simply logged in on my MSN, and then clicked "solve problem".
You get a list whith some things that are usually the problem, and it turns out I have a wrong IP adress :dead
HOW IN THE WORLD DID I DO THAT????

I love the computer repairman...in a pure platonic way of course :rolleyes
Turned out I had NO IP adress!! It was just a matter of "filling in the numbers"
It was so smpl, that I didn't noticed it. :glare
well, with all my problems fixed, I have but one thing to say: :china thanks guys. :china

I thought AVG was formerly Avira AntiVirus...

Oh wait, I guess not. Man, how did I end up thinking AVG was a newer version of Avira? :heh Did I happen to type free-avg.com instead of free-av.com and end up with AVG? Weird...
