A Year ago today (give or take a few days, probably :heh

) The Official Ad-Free, totally revamped and independent Gravitude Bar was introduced to Merqurycity.com. In a year, we've gotten almost 1,000 members, tons of great topics, and a community I couldn't be more proud of. It's with this in mind that we celebrate our little baby here, and hope for many more years of great community here at Merqurycity.com.

And with that, here's your PRESENT!

The SSX 3 THEME!

Go to your profile, and under "Board Style", select "SSX 3 Theme" and hit Submit. Oila! A completely new "light" skin for all of you who stuck around through thick and thin! Enjoy it, it's the culmination of about 40 hours worth of work. :eek

Now, as for the other point of this topic, we've nominated the top 6 "moments" of the past year in a poll up above. Vote for your favorite, and the people involved will get a free custom rank (and rank image) for an entire year!

Awesome job man!

It's so weird at first but I like it a lot...I love the logo bar on the top....very nice stuff! It all came together nicely.

And I have no idea what to vote for...I'm so torn....it's a tough decision...

Nad, MrChaos, Alpmaster, Frost, donated some of their best movies. I might be convinced to grandfather in one or two other people as well. :china

From this lot I voted "'If they Mated', etc.".

To kick in an open door: "MrChaos's Showoff and Frost/Alps Racing Movie Barrage (MrChaos, Frost, Alpmaster) + Nad" makes no sense at all. The only two people way up there in (high quality, huge numbers of) movie runs are: MrChaos and Nad. Distant second come: Blackdth (SSX), Frost (Tricky), Yoshi (Tricky), 007, Aeroth, CP, Igloo, and Revirus.

And I miss the SSX 3 racing records sweep by Elevation as one of the highlights of the past year. SSX 3 racing never really recovered. Oh, then Nad also needs a mention. :heh

I know, it's a tough call, you could also include iglooman in there too. That's why I left the door open to others. MrChaos and Nad are on top, but alpmaster and Frost (and BD) also kept the Tricky and SSX sections alive with good movies as well. I didn't want to leave people out, so I left it open. If that selection does win, we'll be sure to reward everyone who deserves it. :china

True enough. We can grandfather him in as well if enough people say so. It was more a selection by me to reward the people who contributed. :china

To answer Eddily's question, the arcade games do work for me, so it may be a problem with your comp. However, if you want to play the arcade, you can always choose the dark skin.

They can work in the same window, but in a different window it just doesn't do anything. DK would be pretty inconvenient to play in that mode though. But yeah, they still work with the old skin.

ehh, if the rabbi wins, don't give JUST doyle recognition. I'd rather if it was something more closely linked to SSX or Gravitude itself. If rabbi wins (which it actually does kinda deserve to), give some recognition to the 2nd place as well. Do you all really think that a rabbi is THE MOST MEMORABLE thing out of a YEAR of Gravitude??
