can you believe this?? I don't. I get sick of people comparing Hitler with Obama, just because he (at last) plans to do something about poor health care in the USA. Do they actually know anything about Hitler?
Jeez' the guy promised change, he got elected, now let him do his job.

Any opinions?

not as much as I would want to, and not as much as the people born in the thirties,
but quite a lot, yes.
now don't go thinking I'm a Nazi or something, 'cuz I'm not.

Well, then, you should know who funded Hitler's rise to power.

I assume the party members of the NSDAP. But if you know something I don't, please, educate me.

I choose not to discuss that.
It might very well be true, but I didn't made this topic to talk about Hitler and the Holocaust.
I hoped to talk about conservatists, Fox news, health care, etc...
maybe I should have mentioned that earlier on :|

I guess we must have misunderstood.

You want to talk about things that are fictions, deceptions, and illusions.

We want to talk about the truth.

It's up to you...

We will all have to face the truth very soon. I recommend you start now.

Nothing is ever completely true.

I'm tired of these little word games versus you and RE virus, and I know that there's no chance in the world of "winning" them. So if no one else has an opinion concerning the actual subject, I'm not planning on posting anything on this topic.

And no, I'm not running away from the truth, I'm following my one path towards it.
As a human being, that is still my right.

What if relativism is part of the deception?

You mean you can't win an internet argument? Since when?

That you got right. For now.

It's not about winning any word games...

You have to open your mind to new possibilities, and you have to do the research yourself to see what is out there, and then you can make a decision on what to believe. I can tell you already that you haven't done the research, or else this conversation already would have gone a lot differently.

Inspect closely every assumption you hold about the world, and about yourself. Ask yourself why you hold such assumptions, whether they were taught to you, or passively conditioned into you, or however you learned them. You may be surprised at where a lot of them come from. With the right shift of perspective, you can start to understand how they control generations of people without you ever realizing it.

The fact of the matter is, truth is always much stranger than fiction.

You act like there's absolutely no correlation between the two. Some surely take the comparison to extremes, but it's nothing new nowadays.

well, that's my problem. I don't see the connection.
I simply can't understand why you should compare the two.
Is Obama trying to rule the world? was Hitler a socialist?
It's probably something less obvious that I'm missing...

I clearly prefer Hitler. I mean, he's white, Obama's black. Duh?

Hitler wasn't the coolest cat around, but you're bent on trying to portray him as purely evil, and Obama as purely righteous. They're both people, and they certainly share characteristics in leadership, propaganda/advertising, etc.

Ele, I don't agree or disagree with you, but "Do the research yourself" is neither a strong argument nor helpful in getting the message across.

Mac, you don't have the competence to agree or disagree with me, because you don't know what you are talking about.

What message do you think I am trying to get across? I just want people to actually seek real answers to the questions they are asking, and not somehow delude themselves into reducing things like this to a matter of opinion, and what you "believe" or not. You can believe anything. You can still be dead wrong. How would you ever know, if you didn't look into the matter yourself? The answer is that you wouldn't. You would go through life a complete idiot, and never realize it.

Think about that in light of what you are all saying.

Seriously, what do you want those of us that have the answers to say? You think it is simple enough to explain to you on the first grade level that you seem to need in order to understand it? It is infinitely more complex. You have to be willing to take the plunge down into the rabbit hole, and consider your history and your reality through any number of lenses.

If I would follow the links and hints you gave me, yes, I'd probably end up making the same conclusions as you did. But if i would follow another person's hints and links, I could very well end up finding something different. How can I make sure that you are telling the truth?
And "look at the evidence" is not going to help me. "I doubt, so I think. I think, so I exist"
I will even doubt your evidence.

I sincerely hope I didn't give that impression. I don't want to demonise Hitler, or to eulogize Obama. I expressed my doubts about the fact that all the people waving around with pictures of Obama with Hitlers mustache truly know what they're talking about.

I've formed myself an opinion, now I wanted to listen to everyone's opinions, and then see what's wrong with mine, so I can adjust it. This includes everyone's opinion, not only your's, ele.
Your opinion is of great value to me, because you're an intelligent person who likes to pull his own conclusions, but don't suffocate my search for the truth with yor results. That won't help me, it will just confuse me.

I don't even know how someone can mistake elitism for intelligence.
