That's what we all do... when doing all that perfectly I hit the wh at mid-44, never lower.

I don't understand what you're saying in this part, but this is the only part that could save those 500+ ms...

1:46 grav , that's awesome RE and ice ! very impressive run. :china

But how made you to calculate the ms ( 1:46.92 ) ?

Watch my run and learn, I just wanted to say that I got too much air in my "good start" vid, meaning it could be faster.

By counting the frames. You need to have a live recording (not replay) to count the frames with accuracy.

I still don't see what you mean. If you could elaborate more we might be able to get close to a 1:45. So far I'm seeing 1:46.5 at perfection, without your 500 ms faster beginning.

What is special about that beginning? You were only less than 200 ms faster than my 1:46.9 run at the cliff that you fell down into. I've been almost 200 ms faster than your vid, which allows for a mid-44 wh entrance. Are you absolutely positive that you can enter it at 43 seconds?

4:00 P2R :pimp

It was a very solid run, couple slight messups. That shortcut you were talking about RE, I see it now. It just freezes everytime you make it to SM. :glare

Also, RE did you record either of your recent runs. (grav or P2R) Would be interesting to compare runs.

Well done IceX, well out of my league. Have had no time to play for the last 2 weeks and will be going away this and next weekend as well.

Have you got a Vid?

If you consider it's impossible, just say it.
I don't know what happened, maybe the clock had a slowdown, I don't know

Wow Ice!! smart run, and cool way to jump over the off-bounds!

Completely agree with MJ that is the wildest jump into SM as well as the 180 onto the rail.

It seems to me that you could extract a few more seconds out of it, so I thought you would like some more of my ideas. Rather than trying to describe them, I've gone into free ride and done some videos...

Cut through the trees at the first checkpoint, here's a couple of lines http://useruploads.mythica.org/view/crispy_peak2_thru_the_trees.wmv.html

A variation on your finish that theoretically should be a fraction faster http://useruploads.mythica.org/view/Crispy_P2_Finish_v1.wmv.html

Finally, this happens to me occasionally. I like it but I can't quite work out how to repeat it. http://useruploads.mythica.org/view/Crispy_p2_ending_rail.wmv.html

About your first two links...

I was doing that cut through trees but stopped because sometimes I would have a simple screw up there. I didn't really test if it were faster. It looks to be slightly quicker. The second, catching them rails is what I wanted to do, it's just when you get to the end I always get kinda nervous and that second twirly rail i've crashed on quite a few times so I just abandon it.

The early jump over the invisible wall is not as easy as it looks. If you jump higher there, you will jump too far. If you jump a little lower you will get out of bounds.. jump a little left you will get out of bounds. I was satisfied with that run as I was really only aiming for a 4:02.

Great 4:00.96 run, Ice. Very nice jump into SM, and even nicer shortcut behind those trees, Crispy. I had tried going behind those trees but always got off limits. You could've put all that in one video, though. :heh

IceXtreme wrote:

It doesn't freeze if you turn backwards and cross a certain point. I was thinking it might be possible to jump on the last green rail, and just boost as some kind of invisible wall will automatically make you turn around. However, with your new entrance into SM, testing that would seem useless.

Yeah, have 'em both live. I'll post them later.

I'm saying it's impossible with the line you are describing. Instead of getting defensive you could try to figure out what you did.

The trick to those trees is not to jump going in, if you jump to far left the Red Station section doesn't load and you go in a wormhole that you can't get out of.

Here's how I take the shortcut. I can land into that area without crashing but it's difficult to get the airtime to get over. If there is a way to bypass the freezing that shortcut could save about 3-4 secs.

Yeah, finally managed to get in the grav. wh at 22:00 (again without hitting that damn rail in the throne/grav. connection part)

Could still be better, but finally I'm good in RE's eyes

"under 9:30 would be good" ^^

Ruthless ridge 1:56 :pimp

That run was actually faster than IceX's, but I had 1 crash, therefor only 1:56
(Last select at early 1:46, due to crash xD)

If you can land without crashing, then it could be useful. Did you try getting on the green rail and just boosting backwards?

could be my new nickname ;D

Kinda fascinating, the game even freezes in freeride!

Maybe I found a new wh in gravitude:
Remember the last select trick in the run of GiveMeIce/snowstorm?

If you don't select the jump would be big enough for 3 xecutioner, but if you hit it right, you can land in a wh

I know that one, but I have not tested it out. It has a slight chance of being useful if you land in it directly (instead of bumping into the floor and landing on the other side). Good luck testing it.

No, I haven't tried taking the green rails and going backwards because that would take away the 3-4 second increase I would think. I'll try to keep working with that later. Right now i'm trying to find a way to get from happiness to R&B on Peak 1.

I haven't been able to bypass the out of bounds wall in the green station to R&B... but I just found a wh in the green station that could be useful if I could stay in it. It throws me out everytime I enter it.

Here's the wh --> http://useruploads.mythica.org/view/pk1_wh.wmv.html

It's seeming like no matter how long I stay in the wh, when you get selected out it puts you in the same spot. So I guess all Station wh's are useless. :???

That's where the invisible wall may come in handy!

That would open up a whole new track for us to play. Keep trying! Keep in mind that entering LT (or Schizo?) would work just as well, although it wouldn't be as fun as R&B.

Nice find, I didn't know that one. It's almost certainly useless, as even if it would bring you further down the mountain, the track (SJ) won't load unless you cross a certain point after the wh. There's another one a little after that one (turn hard left just as you see SJ) that could possibly be useful in the P1R.

Well there is a way to get to R&B from happiness unfortunately I wasn't recording. I'm going to work on it more the run I did somehow get it on got me a 8:33 and that was with like 3 mins of wasted time looking for a way in. All I remember was it was before where Ice found the WH I was heading back up handplanting/grinding rail and veared left and did a very small jump. I just couldnt repeat it It didn't seem hard to do when I did it, I guess there is just an exact spot like pk2. Maybe RE can play with it also, if you guys need clips I'll try to get them up of where I think it was.
