p.s. i'm going to second yoshi on this. the umbrella term for the genre is electronic dance music (edm). techno is a specific sub-genre just like house, electro, trance, etc.

electronic is valid. it's the broader umbrella term under which electronic dance music (edm) falls under. edm just separates the more popularized genres from the experimental ones.

I've gotta say. Techno introduced me to EDM. But after more than 10 years, I've gotta say there are other EDM genres I prefer over Techno anyday.

French House (music that sounds like Daft Punk) is my favorite. Great feel-good music. Uplifting Trance, Liquid Dubstep, Electronica, and everything that sounds even remotely like Chillout/Ambient/Minimalism is my thing.
