I know you're really into this PSP homebrew scene and know what its all aobut. Ive been trying to get into it but it's never been worth the effort, everything is so damn complicated and nowhere wil tell you in an understandable way... Now I really REALLY want to play Metal gear Solid on my psp. So I wanna get this hacked firmware that will let me do it.

But I have no clue if I can even get it... My PSP is version 3.01.

Can you please tell me in an understandable way, step by step, what to do, what to download and how to use, all the stuff I need to be able to run an ISO of my ps1 game on my PSP... thanks... :cry

I may not be completely up to date with the latest developments, but I'm pretty sure MGS PS1 is a bit of a pain on PSP if for no other reason it has 2 discs.

The problem is when it comes time to swap discs. IIRC there is no savepoint just before you swap. I do however remember reading that there was a hack that pretty much allowed you to load any save from disc 2, so that might help.

You might also have some problems trying to beat psychomantis without being able to change the controller ports.

Apart from that, you'll first need to downgrade your PSP to fw 1.5. Make sure you check if you have the TA082 motherboard, as I think it's a different procedure for it, and will brick it if you choose the wrong one.

Then you want to upgrade to Dark_Alex's custom firmware, the latest available is 3.10 OE -A'.

You need to run your ISO's thru the popstation to get it to a useable EBOOT format.

Anyway if you wanna be sure, there's a lot more reading ahead for you. Visit http://www.psp-hacks.com for the lowdown.

:heh Didn't even see this topic. But pretty much what ssx4ever said just follow the instructions and you should be ok. I've done two PSP's with Dark_Alex's custom firmware with no problems. I haven't tried to play MGS cuz of the Pyscho Mantis fight and the swapping of the disc. But I need a bigger memory stick to play some of my games like FF7, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill.
