One small thing... Is there any way you could turn the background into this colour:



And then save them as a high quality PNG or something, otherwise the transparency won't work!

Apart from that, the animations work very well, the whole thing is really smooth.

Lol why am I suddenly the go-to guy? I =have= used RPG Maker before, but hell, i don't -ever- remember mentioning it to any of you guys.

The scripting isn't really that hard, especially since there's a bunch of online tutorials and whatnot if you ever get stuck. I actually haven't tried RPGMaker XP, only 95, 2k and 2k3, so i dunno what got changed in that version, though the essentials should still be the same.
Still, it's much, much, MUCH easier than coding your own engine. So you guys actually have somewhat of a chance (if you had to code everything it would never get off the ground).

First things first, though, seems at this point that you guys don't really have much of a plan yet. If you guys are just screwing around and experimenting with stuff, then that's fine, but if you want something with any kind of quality you need to decide what you're actually going to do before you jump in. Ask yourself all the big essential questions: what's the premise of the game? what makes it interesting? why will people want to play it? Is this more of a traditional RPG with a plotline/battles/etc or is this kind of a "walk-around and explore" play environment?
Then go through all the features you want. For each of them, evaluate whether it's actually feasible, whether it actually benefits the game, etc.
If someone can draft a big design document, then you guys are well on your way.
btw, Yeti that spriting is pretty awesome. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

But again, if you guys just want to play around and make whatever, then that's fine too.

Game outline idea to start the ball rolling

You are a contestant entry in an upcoming SSX tournament which could send you to the big time races and onto the finals to earn you a place in snowboard history, but when you arrive at the mountan lodge you find that your board has been lost in the journey there.

Search the mountain peaks and village lodges, do tasks, help others out to earn rewards and money in order to buy a new board but along the way you hear rumours of the elusive 'Uber Board of myth', the board that when ridden will win the rider any race.

Sounds like a good idea.

It should be like you can snowboard too, but you would have to travel to the peaks. And other games! It should be online! You can play games with each other! and snowboard. And is Mac in there? I use mac for everything!

well i dont know if the snowbording bit is possible (er flexxx? ), by keeping it as a roam around you get to explore the places behind the games like sajjetta mentioned and keep the snowboarding to the real games. It would be cool if it were multiplayer and you could meet up with characters and talk to each other (like a chat room) but we'll have to see whats possible as im only doing the drawing so far.

as for Mac..........I'll be doing other things for a bit but yeh he'll be drawn eventually

On the game DJA says it is a house on the main street where the owner left his door open for people to use it as they like. Hence it turned into some kind of un official club where people go in and play music.
