It looks like 2010 is going to be a good year for SSX Tricky. I want in on this action! If everything goes my way, I'll be able to play again in a month or so. I'll start shooting for (near) perfect runs with you guys. It already feels like forever since I've played and all this talk makes me want to so much more.

PROGRESS UPDATE!!

PASSED 5.7m now! Ok... getting 6m is 100% positive. Missing at least one 2x, one 3x and a couple of 5x flakes, probably 3 or 4! I am QUITE sure that 6.5-6.7m is possible if you do a near perfect run! Sadly, I don't reckon 7m is possible, though it can be possible IF we manage to find other possible flakes to get. I still had a good 12 seconds left when I reached the finish line + I wasted a lot of time on a lot of jumps as well as goofing around. So yeah, when those mistakes are gone, things can get way better. I'll probably hit 6m soon if I manage to lock out those moronish mistakes. AND YES, I still miss that bloody right gold rail, but I do manage to hit the left gold rail and the flake on the end of it...

J14, TOO bad that you don't own the game, dude! I am sure you'd be able to spot more flakes that one could try to get.

Maybe others too want to join in on this one, hmm? I am just trying out the non-glitched version to see what the max score for TMPX is...

I knew TMP had a lot of possibilities, but since I never got to work on it that much I didn't think it would end up being this good.

Actually, I own the game and there's nothing wrong with it. I just don't have anything to play it on at the moment. You and others will have to hunt down points without me for a while.

Yeah, it sure has A LOT of potential, indeed! And DUDE am I happy that I started with TMPX! I am in SUCH great mood tonight that I am giving TMPX another hit.. Still on 5.7m, but it'll improve drastically throughout the upcoming days, I hope. I'll at least give it a nice go... But yeah, if you notice anything else, J14, just let me know and I'll try to see what I can do... Oh, and it looks like I've found a mate with some camrecording thingy that I can borrow when I need to record something. BUT... I don't have more space on my mem.card to keep more replays if I'd get any other nice runs......... So I'd have see what I can record and leave out... sorry. But I'll see what I can do. Alrighty! 5.9m now AND I am STILL missing some important flakes! In fact, I missed ALL 3 gold rail-flakes! Haha. What a n00bie run that was... I actually managed to miss even the easy 5x we talked about earlier and landing on the fan on the other part, but I hit about everything else......... So yeah, a good 6-700k missed just there, I suppose.... Darn it.

Yeah, will see what I can do about the recording. Will definitely get this, as this was BLOODY difficult AND fun to do! Such a MASSIVE stage pointwise, I must say! Not only that, you have to calculate the time properly in the end as well! I actually did a 5.9m run earlier, but I didn' manage to cross the finishline before it was goner. AAAALRIGHTY, FOLX!

I've finally surpassed 6m and got a NICE 6.25m @ TMPX (clean, NO glitch/fan-abuse) !!! I hit almost all major flakes except the one @ 4:07..... Don't ask... I don't know what I did wrong, really... Jumped too much to the left side, I guess. But still, considering that it's probably one of THE easiest 5x flakes to get on TMPX, I still managed to fail on that one.....

Hmm... I am wondering if 7m is actually possible to reach now... That is if we can find even more flakes to get. But remember, you have to time the run properly as well so you can manage to cross the finish line just in time. Unlike stages suchs as Garibaldi, where proper timing is needed, you can almost showoff quite freely on TMPX. Meaning that you can fool around a bit to get extra flakes and yet manage to cross the finish line just in time. In Garibaldi you can't do this if you're aiming for the max score. You just can't afford to fool around there. So yeah, if things are done correctly and precisely, 7m MIGHT be possible! If not 7m, then at least very CLOSE to 7m.... 6.8-6.9'ish, I reckon. But yeah, since it's that close, we should be able to find ways to push it to 7m after all, agree?

Ok... taking on 9E's TMPX video, there are a couple of 5x flakes he doesn't manage to hit and a couple of 5x flakes that are possible to get if you take another route. There are also few 2x and 3x flakes you can get that are not shown in the video. I'll give detailed pointers on how to get them later. And while I remember, one of the 3x flakes 9E gets @ 3:54 on his video, you can avoid and get it later on. It's just awkward and annoying to avoid the other 3x flake instead of hitting both in one jump. There's also a 2x flake @ 4:22 that you can get. You just can't have that much speed and you can only do a WTD if you want to get that 2x. There's another 2x flake that comes right after this one (@ 4:26) that you can get much easier if you actually hit the 2x flake @ 4:22. And the 2x flake @ 4:32, you can pull of 2 ubers instead of one WTD. Then there's the 3x flake @ 3:48 (on the left side)... If you hit the jump, WTD through the 3x, turn around, then do like on the video, you''ve gotten 1 extra 3x flake.

There are actually two things/flakes I'll try to get that I haven't gotten before... The first one is the 2x flake that you can spot @ 4:49 jump. First you do like 9E does, then you get enough speed, hit the same fan and try to reach for the 2x while doing 3 ubers... If that can be done (and you do have enough time to do this!), it can extend the highscore even more, obviously. The other flake would be the 3x flake right after the 5x flake @ 7:38... How can one manage to hit that one..? Any suggestions? IF these flakes are possible to get, we can perhaps reach 7m CLEAN!

Will try out these things today and see what happens. Wish me luck, heh...

PS: TMPX along with Alaska (and perhaps EA too) has a showoff difficulty rating of 9.5 out of 10! That's for sure. Garibaldi is probably @ 9/10 while SD is @ 7.5/10. I spent about 5 times less time on SD than on TMPX......... These ratings are meant for the route perfection-thingy we are doing.

OK... MOVING ON NOW! Getting REEEALLY close to 7m now!!!!!! 6.625m and I still managed to miss A COUPLE of major flakes worth about 2-3-400k! I actually found a neat way to get som of the above mentioned flakes, but it still requires a lot of timing and a bit of luck to hit them with full force.

I am just a bit excited to play this classic game so much that I've gotten this nice Tricky-feeling in me again, so I am a bit joyed over this, and thus feeling the urge to share my progression with you, fellas, even if some of you might not care. Hehe. But yeah, I'll post once I've done everything instead of spamming this thread TOO much. Hehe. But yeah, I do this so that others (if there are any) are able to pick up pointers etc. if there's anyone else who want to give a go on the same stages. You know, helpin' each other out is the way to reach the goal we're all aiming for with this.

7m CLEAN @ TMPX reached! NO glitch/fan-abuse! NO wipeouts and about as clear as possible with minimal airtime waste and optimizing the jumps along with ubers!!

Personally I put TMPX above Garibaldi in terms of annoyingness, difficulty and toughness! Definitely worth its 9.5 for difficulty, indeed!

I found out a couple of things that you CAN do, but where you must rely on luck as well as your jumping skills... Will document this with a video later on. Pics will have to do now.

And YES, it's a CLEAN run, both in terms of no fan-abuse and wipeouts.

But yeah, when it comes to points, I really can't see one getting more than a score between 7-7.050m, tbh... I could probably do one extra uber at one jump, but I didn't dare to risk it since I was doing so well... I doubt it's possible to get more points, although one can spot some flakes here and there throughout the stage, but still... getting them would mean wasting more time for jumps, and as you can see, there wasn't much time left for me, but hell, if there are other possible flakes that one could get, then sure... Go ahead and give it a go. I have to say that I am satisfied with this one, though.

However, I am also coming for you. Now that I know it can be done, I want to get to work on a 7 million run.

I think perfect timing in a glitched run could land you in the 14-16 million range. I got 8.7 million and my run was primarily normal, without too much extra time dedicated to fan use.
