Interesting:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/moore ... on-new-ssx

Quote:
EA Sports boss Peter Moore has told Eurogamer that there are no current plans to resurrect the SSX series of snowboarding games.

Moore was speaking to Eurogamer at E3 in a wide-ranging and slightly bonkers interview that also touched upon Andrew Wilson's golf skills at the Sony conference, Kirby's Epic Yarn and one of our readers' use of the word "milk".

"SSX is a fabulous piece of intellectual property. You never say never, but there's nothing to say right now," Moore told Eurogamer.

When asked what kind of approach EA might take were the publisher to look at restoring the series, which debuted on PlayStation 2, Moore indicated that it would not be enough simply to approach it with the same ideas in mind.

"Well, everybody talks about Tricky," he said. "I think we'd have to look at how you bring back SSX's snowboarding mechanic and make it relevant.

"It's been a number of years, some people may not even have played an SSX game. You've got to look at the current marketplace and Shaun White coming back again."

EA Sports' last SSX title was the disappointing SSX Blur on Wii.

Check out our recent SSX 3 retrospective if you fancy taking a look back at one of the series' brighter moments.

Meanwhile, you can check out the full Peter Moore interview elsewhere on the site.

So according to the head boss, there isn't any SSX in development right now. So if we're expecting one, it won't be soon. :shrug Or, he could just be a liar like that Jaffe guy. :lol It's a good bet even if it was in development, he wouldn't say anything and deny it.

Here is the Interview Questions of Interest:
Quote:
Eurogamer: @lingmops says: are we ever going to get more SSX and if we are, can it be SSX 3 and not On Tour?

Peter Moore: SSX is a fabulous piece of intellectual property. You never say never, but there's nothing to say right now.

Eurogamer:
Speaking hypothetically, if you were having a meeting about it coming back, would you suggest going down the On Tour route?

Peter Moore:
Well, everybody talks about Tricky. I think we'd have to look at how you bring back SSX's snowboarding mechanic and make it relevant. It's been a number of years, some people may not even have played an SSX game. You've got to look at the current marketplace and Shaun White coming back again.

:cry SSXnooooooooooooo!

I guarantee that a new SSX game would be better than a new Twisted Metal game. I know it's not the same publisher, but...

If you want to do something right, do it yourself. /starts learning to program

Don't jump off a bridge just yet. I'm gonna change my Headline so it isn't so sensationalistic. :lol This is what he actually said:

Quote:

All he said was "There's nothing to say right now" - give it six months or a year and they have a game they think will fill the niche, and I'm sure we'll get an announcement.

that's a matter of opinion and a poor comparision since twisted metal and ssx are on opposite ends of the gaming spectrum.

---

i still strongly believe a new one is being made...i just don't think we're going to hear anything about it any time soon.

Current market? Ha! If you look all over the internet,, like 25% of people like Shaun White better then SSX. I thought they learned their lesson after the whole Criterion thing, but wow, how could they be so blind?

Sigh, somehow, somewhere, I also get the feeling they might be up to something, or at least thinking about making it, with SSX 10th year after all! :P

I read some of the comments in the site and I must admit, I would like a new SSX game rather then a HD remake, but if they choose to do a remake, I guess I'll still buy it.

:rolleyes
EA will never make up their minds, gosh I feel like knocking them in the head and say, "Wake up! This is the 21 first century, time for a new SSX without shitty motion controls!"

The new Shaun white game is going to be a skating game, what a lame excuse Peter, really.

So. That's it. I will design my own SSX. Any programmers here? :D I can't wait until Shaun White has done all uber-tricks in reality.
And yes, SSX Blur was not a hit because it was a recycled SSX on Tour and SSX3. You can't expect that it sells like bread.

Why not put all the Shawn White characters and the SSX characters together and make the ultimate snowboarding game:

SSX vs. Shawn White? :woot :woot :woot :woot :woot :woot :woot :woot

Wait. I thought Shaun White Snowboarding is from Ubisoft. I would rather see Nintendo's 1080 franchise unite with SSX. Amped would be okay, too. But never ever Shaun White. :-)
