PSM3 magazine – Final Issue :cry

Just wanted to post about the magazine as they for me, have been the biggest supporters of SSX for news, coverage and love of the franchise in the UK and on occasion here on merq. Issue 161 is the last mag they will publish (out now to buy and download) and carries a number of look backs over the years they have been around.

Congrats to the magazine for all they did, it’s a sad loss as one of SSX’s biggest fans. Thanks for the posters and SSX2012 special mini mag and especially for the Big Mountain Art work now gracing Merqs Gallery. :china

All the best to Dan and the team for the future and on behalf of merq wish them well :thumbsup

Of special mention is SSX which graced 5 of their covers which isn’t bad going considering the competition for the front page slot.
SSX – issue 3
Tricky (preview) – issue 12
Tricky – issue 16
SSX3 – issue 41
SSX 2012 – issue 137

Listed in their 50 greatest gaming moments:
SSX3 – All peaks decent:
‘SSX3’s peak Three looks almost mythical, it’s untamed powder expanses licking the crystal blue sky. It’s the haunting starting point of SSX3’s epic final race: an unprecedented 30 minute, non-stop, decent down all three peaks.Epic.’

Editor-in-Chief Daniel Dawkins shares 12 years of hightlights, thanking:
‘Todd Batty, for his vision and conviction – when everyone else doubted the SSX remake, we’d met him and didn’t.’

We were right feature:
4 place
‘SSX rips us off – Give us some ideas for SSX Tricky asked EA. So we did. We, er, didn’t use them, they pleaded – before SSX3 featured “everything” we asked, almost verbatim.’

The PSM Hotlist – this the the magazines top 25 games over the magazines lifespan.
Placed at number 3 – SSX Tricky

Damn! So many mentions of SSX. They truly love the franchise! It's like for them SSX is up there with Halo, Half-Life, Gran Turismo, etc.

I bought quite a few of their magazines (Portuguese version), and I liked their style. And I even got to visit their work place once because I won a contest. :D

Sadly, magazines are another victim of the rise of the Internet.

Never read the magazine, only checked scans from their SSX issues. But it's a sad loss nevertheless. RIP PSM. :china

Awww man all the classic gaming mags are going :(
PSM3 was always brilliant with SSX, i'll miss it when a new game is announced. Barely any other magazines will give it any attention :(
