There is a strong chance your question may be answered here. Give a read, feel free to add more to this thread though I may or may not be able to keep up with the updates. 99.98% of this thread was complied by whoozwah. The other .02% was done by vix. This thread has potential spoilers in it... August 7th: Quote: New game modes: - 3-2-1-GO! events: When looking at your wall or browsing the globe you will now see certain events indicated as 3-2-1-GO! These events allow you to compete with up to 5 riders simultaneously in fast paced trick it and race it heats. - Freeride mode: The other new way to play SSX in this update is one of the most requested modes from our community - freeride. Navigate to any drop on the globe in explore, and before selecting your track you will now see a button callout in the bottom left of the screen called freeride. This is a HUD-less game mode. Fixes and improvements: - Geotags: There was an issue with collecting a large amount of geotags that resulted in crash. This issue is now fixed and you are free to once again hunt geotags to your hearts content. - Money: We have fixed and issue with earning a large number of credits in your bank. Having a couple billion credits in you bank can now be considered only a good thing. - Lifetime Earnings: We have now also fixed the lifetime earnings display. So if you are a multi-billionaire, you will once again be able to reflect upon all of your great triumphs each time you look at the main menu. - GE Badges: If you have not already earned any of these 3 GE badges, we will be granting them to you automatically when you join any global event. "Part of the crowd" "I want to belong" and "Bandwagon". We have also fixed a rare problem with "The gold miner" not unlocking correctly for some players. - Ridernet Lag: If you are a popular player with many friends, you have probably grown frustrated with the speed and performance of the ridernet menu. This is now much improved. - GE info: Players with many friends have also likely experienced an issue with ridernet not remembering some of your GE information, or even the fact that you had paid and entered certain events from time to time. The saving and loading of this information has also been greatly improved.
DLC
IF YOUR GAME IS LOCKING UP If your game locks up at the start of the avalanche deadly descent or any of the other reverse camera levels, the day one patch solved this. It's a bug with classic controls. If you cannot update your game (ie, your console is not connected to the internet), you can do the following to alleviate the problem: Batty wrote: Just switch to regular controls before jumping out of heli, then you can switch immediately back to classic controls. I think this occurs on both the DD warm-up and DD so he will have to do it both times. And please also pass on our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks! Todd SPOILER RULES

There's generally plenty of sunlight.) Himalayas – Chomo Lonzo: Bear Claw (this one says it needs a wingsuit but it really doesn't. It's just a very vertical run. Really fun.) Patagonia – Cerro Pollone: Blackbox (needs wingsuit but only in a few spots. Generally pretty open. May take you 1 or 2 tries to fine a good line) Patagonia – Cerro Pollone: Salient (see Blackbox) Siberia – Kara-Oiuk: Don’t Make Me (says it requires ice axes but you could prolly get away without them. Nice trick run scattered with trees.) Siberia – Boris: Vapor Trail (very very few pits near second half of track before nuclear stations open up. Easily avoidable) |

You didn't answer my question... Haha. Do you get more points by getting your multiplier up to 20 as fast as possible? Or does it only matter what it's at when you cash it in? May want to add that answer into your list! |

How exactly do you do the 6 different grinds for each level (normal, tricky, super tricky)? I know a single press of each of the 3 buttons will do a grind, but how do you do the other 3? |

double tap the button to access the second grind associated with it. |

May want to add that answer into your list! When you land a trick, you immediately bank TRICK x FLOW. TRICK (no multiplier) is also added to the COMBO SCORE. The combo counter increases by one, and if the trick is big enough Flow also increases by one. (Things like Nose/Tail press won't increase flow.) When you end your combo (banking it, not crashing), you bank COMBO SCORE x FLOW. You also bank a COMBO BONUS (no multiplier). So you'll bank more points immediately by having a higher multiplier, but the base trick score always goes into the combo score. Everything in the combo score is then multiplied by whatever your Flow is when you finally end the combo. If you want to learn fine details of trick scoring, check the Scoring Mechanics thread. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9829 My scoring model isn't complete yet, but it's getting there. I'm trying to update it every couple days. |

Hey, I was wondering if this would be an appropriate place to describe mods and how they work / what they do - not all available mods, but just the different types: "Boost Mod," "Trick Mod," etc. - similar to how we list different gear types. You could also include a hierarchy or explanation of the different levels, e.g. is "Legendary" better than "Epic" or whatever. This would also apply to boards and gear, I think. There were a few mods that I didn't fully understand (even looking at the expanded description of how they work). In particular there was a "Trick Multiplier Mod," but I'm not sure what that does. Does that multiply your final total by some factor at the end?? That would almost seem like cheating; at least, I wouldn't want to be up against someone in a Global Event using one.... Thanks! |

^ That would qualify as big spoiler, I believe, so perhaps not in the general info thread. If so, then hidden from the rest of the information. |

Thank you for this thread! Clarified a lot of the new intricacies of the new trick system (e.g. holing a tweaked grab is better than rifling through multiple grabs) |

pretty general question i've been wondering since the demo... can you ever see your own Ghost? when you have the fastest time or score on a track... theres no ghost to beat which is a shame since it makes it considerably harder to improve your own times. |

Post subject: | Re: Mega Info Thread - Please Read Before Posting |
yes. when you're at the top of your leaderboard on a particular track you see your personal best as a ghost. |

Im still not sure how global events work. I got a gold on serenity race it first try. That didn't seem reight because there are tons of people playing. Are there hundreds of people that can get gold? Or... i have no idea! someone explain everything to me please |

Post subject: | Re: Mega Info Thread - Please Read Before Posting |
the bracket system goes like this from bottom to top: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond. The brackets are percentage based, taking into account the amount of people in an event. If you got gold, you're in the middle payout bracket. |

Post subject: | Re: Mega Info Thread - Please Read Before Posting |
this is excellent vix. What I'm going to do for my own benefit is make a chill out tricky playlist of drops. What I'm going to do is eliminate all the racing and survival events from the list. Then I'm going to eliminate all the deadly decent runs. Then I'm going to eliminate all the "little brother courses" for example "fast forward" and "trickypedia" in the himalayas. They're just sections of "Serenity" so I'm only keeping the longest run if it's sectioned off like that. Then when I have that list compiled I'm going to play test all of them and look for drops with bottomless pits and eliminate those. What I'll be left with is essentially the ultimate list of laid back runs for honing your skills, chilling out and having a good time without much or any frustration. If anyone's interested I can post this list once I get it done. |
