There are quite a few people in the queue now, so we're gonna have to get a little stricter. If it looks like people aren't going to take part at all, they're at risk of being deleted in favour of someone who really wants to compete. There are also a few people who haven't accepted the friend request yet, several days after it was sent... if that's you, accept now!

I think you should give it a week tops for a request... If they don't accept it... They're off. I think one week is a lot of time and should cover anyone's time.

I've got my XBL friend's list nearly full so excuse me if I don't accept your FR. Currently I'm only playing on the Xbox 360.

Anybody is free to add me to their friends list. I'm always hesitant to grab other peoples IDs, because while I've been visiting this place off and on for several years, I never really got to know anyone like some of you have. (I never hooked my PS2 up to the internet, so I wasn't part of the SSX3 online crowd.)

As the responses to this seems to be more than we were anticipating I'm going to go ahead and give up my spot on the PS3 list for someone in the queue. I'm already competing on XBox and, while I'd love to participate in the PS3 events as well, I don't need to be taking up a spot on both lists when someone who isn't on either could be getting in on this. Besides, my PS3 copy came pretty late and I'm far enough behind with my game progress on PS3 as it is. Maybe after the initial excitement wears off for some and the queue has been gone through I'll jump back on if there's a place open.

Quick query - is it worth making the MC weekly events open to 'friends of friends' so that people not on the list can still play, or is the worry that too many non MC members will partake diluting the enitre point?

It's exactly that. We can always play MC members and randoms in a GE - this is supposed to be an event where you compete only with community members, and discuss strategies and lines with them

Now, I'm coming to a point where I'm considering if we should have a second account. Clearly there's a whole bunch of people waiting in line to get in, and I don't want them to be missing out... But this all depends on whether Midian wants to have the trouble of dealing with yet another account and having double the work. This one is on you buddy

I was thinking about this too, but since we're still in the early stages of the plan I think we should wait a little longer and see if there are any people who fail to take part and can be pruned from the list.

I was also thinking we could perhaps get a little stricter with the entry requirements. As much as I want to be fair and invite anyone who asks, it's supposed to be "community only" and I've got the feeling some of the people who joined aren't actually being active on the forum. That almost defeats the point of being able to play against all out Merq friends. What would you think about me checking through this topic and removing people who don't actually seem to be posting?

I do agree partially, but then again, eh... All MC members are allowed to join in on the fun. But if someone only plays and doesn't actually post, can he actually be considered a true part of the community? I think we could let the next event roll - and the week after you can do that. If you want to have all the trouble. I could do it on my end too.
