I guess he doesn't really need to say anything more, the footage parallels what he's talking about. They'll think those things sound cool and then they see you can do the same stuff in this game, and then they'll buy it.

Yeah, probably because he doesn't play it. They included him in the game to familiarize SSX with the snowboarding community, not the other way around. Those french videos are good examples of trying to get famous snowboarders to play SSX.

Like I said, he is a Mountain Dew insistence. He won't cause more sales unless the person is more interested in hardcore snowboarding than they are an extreme sports snowboarding game, or if they are mildly interested in both and combining the two makes them pick up a copy. I like to think the number of people who have played SSX over the years and remember it fondly are more than that, but that's just me. It's a good marketing tool - a definite win-win on both sides - don't be bothered by it or equate more to it than is really meant to be there.

The only part of it that bothers me is that SSX even bothers to pay Travis for advertising at all, I realize that they r trying to use him to market the game to snowboarders, but he never even says there IS a game, at least the French dude played it and said what he thought, any french people who watched that video will probably buy the game because of it.......

and I'll get my copy because I'm really hoping its like a modernized, advanced version of the other ssx games I played and loved

I presume theyre paying Travis for his likeness in the game.... i would of much prefered that money go towards a few more designers pay checks that could of worked on other aspects of the game or other characters.

I think for a game like SSX, the best way to sell it is to play on the nostalgia as much as possible. Then let those who are all nostalgia'd up to tell their friends about it. There are so many people who've played SSX Tricky and SSX 3 (and OT too) so playing on those people, you can use them to your advantage. I know I've told a good amount of friends already about it out of excitement.

especially with them adding features and throw backs from mostly Tricky and 3, it would've been better.

also the money they are using for Travis Rice could be used to promote the game via TV shows, commercials, ESPN, etc etc....but when i think about it, it's like thats what they're trying to do, just with Travis (ie. Conan show) but he's not really talking about SSX so its kind of...a...waste?

they could just use the money to post ads everywhere on IGN, Amazon, etc etc.

idk, Travis is just really not a good marketing ploy at all.
