Chilling news... :(
I just noticed today (and I check frequently) that EA has removed SSX from it's Forum.
In other words, they have removed the opportunity for fans to "chat" about the game on their site. A search for the game on it's forum site only brings up posts where others mention the game in passing. This discovery does note bode well for the SSX genre.
Seems less and less likely we will be getting a sequel.... :frusty

Or it could mean they are working on a new SSX and took down the old forum?

Thank you for this post. I almost lost hope when I heard the news.

I'm going to be seriously upset if we don't get an announcement e3 2016.

I'm with this :yes
It would tie in nice with the post 2 years ago that TOTS would like working on a new SSX that would be teased at E3 2016 - which also matches in with the main screen Poll.

So could be something but not getting my hopes up yet, but well done on noticing.

I don't see the logic here. If they're working on a new SSX, why would they delete their SSX forum?

It's obviously been deleted because they see no reason to maintenance a forum for a game series that's been excluded from their future plans.

I'm sorry, but we're not getting another SSX. Not for many, many years to come.

I'm not reading too much into it. I never even visited it. If it was devoted to SSX 2012 then I can see why it was deleted. Although it only seems like yesterday it came out, it is an old game now on last gen consoles.

I see Todd Batty's name was last attached to one of the FIFA games that came out in 2013. I wonder what he's worked on since? If that post over on Neogaf was to be believed last year then an SSX game was at some point in production. So it was either canned or we'll hear about it sooner or later.

That's word on the street over at GAF as well. There was a post recently by Soultron (who attended the 2012 SSX trip) who said he had spoken to EA team members after the game came out and the team was split up and divided between FIFA and NHL.

Groundswell will have to rise again for there to be another SSX game if you ask me.

we're not gonna have ssx this year they pretty much killed the series that made them famous (burnout, ssx) and are now looking to stay on top with countless unoriginality and pumping out fifa's and madden every year

Sad reading Soultron's post there regarding their plans to support SSX2012 that never happened. Especially since the one bit of DLC they did release, Mount Eddie, ended up being the best track of the game. I still find it curious as to why there wasn't far more tracks like that in the core game and not the death pits and other survival stuff no one really cared for or wanted.

Its a shame EA wouldn't just make a smaller simpler SSX, a remake of SSX Tricky or 3 would do just fine, that needn't have massive AAA production values, but was enough just to get a core game going with its own devoted fanbase from which to build upon with DLC. That seems to be how these smaller arcade style games are working on the PS4.
