I too had a dream, that they made two SSX games. One was pure Wingsuit over the most beautiful places and cliffs and one was very SSX Tricky style.

To be honest I think EA have more faith (heh, heh heh...) in the SSX franchise than for example Mirror's Edge. The latter never sold that well, but Faith sort of became the icon EA wanted out of it (Sonic for Sega, Mario for Nintento...) Meanwhile, as far as I imagine, SSX has grossed at least decent numbers for EA in the past. And I definitely think it has a place in today's gaming fauna. So yeah, couple of years perhaps.

Miss the buzz and banter on the board as well!

If SSX is regarded internally at least at the level that Mirror's Edge is, I think that can only be a good thing, since the VP of EA studios recently said this:
Polygon wrote:
Söderlund also hopes that he can accommodate other requests of his studios, like developing fan-favorite follow-ups to games that didn't sell as well as Madden or Battlefield.

"The EA that I'm trying to help build isn't an EA that needs to annualize everything," he said, adding that not every game is going to be a 10 or 15 or 20 million unit seller.

"When you run a creative organization — and the DICE guys are working on Battlefront, they've done a lot of Battlefield — I think it's important to let them have a creative way of expressing themselves ... And Mirror's Edge is one of those games.

If giving sequels to games like Mirror's Edge is going to become more common and not a one-off, SSX has some pretty great chances. Let's hope this sets a good precedent for next-gen! :cheers

The thing with SSX is that there's an element of it that EVERYONE can enjoy. Whether it's racing, whether it's the characters, whether it's the online play there's something for everyone. IDK Mirror's Edge is great but it is a bit like a one trick pony. Either you like it or you don't. Maybe that's why SSX sold better? Thing is they're all elements of the game, if you don't like racing games, then you have the same problem.

Batty had said a while back that ssx did well in sales and i honestly believe (not because of just good sales) that we will get another sequel. And btw i love that Gondee called it a 5-7 year lapse completely ignoring blur's existence hahaha

Reminded me of the last time i saw the On Tour cover and just for a second..... i didn't recognize it. I forgot I kept telling myself On Tour never happened..

Blur was a good game, but it wasn't a full, cross platform release. It was a "let's do a budget Wii release to see if it can take advantage of the Wii's huge numbers and casual audience" release. :heh

Not a dream but you know when you see something in a pattern its supposed to be a message? ...just me then!
Anyway, I keep seeing Eddie in a tricky style getup - bizzare but its just a recent development - or lack of sleep.

Id still like to see Blur converted to a pad controlled game and stuck on PS4 & Xbox as a download - just to pass the time until Batty leads the charge again - which I hope is soon as the next Art of Flight is being made so, EA, ride the wave and get some publicity.

Also - you know what might be good? if they tied it in with the next winter olympics and had the supercross course in game - EA sponsor around the track (if allowed).

That would be dope but I don't wanna wait another four years for an SSX release.

I still have faith though. E3 Next year in-between FIFA 16 and Madden crap they reuse every year. It'll be there.

In case anyone has forgotten, this is an SSX game designer.

Hopefully one that isn't just teasing us. Cause knowing us, that's just plain cruel.

Not one that knows how we are! Or how we WERE, 3 years ago when we even knew a game was in development.

I wouldn't read too much into TOTS posting, ya'll. If he was working on a potential SSX sequel, he'd be under NDA and unable to say anything.

Well we will know by E3. I for one feel like the current generation of consoles is not what it used to be. 2 years in already and there are only a handful of titles I can name. I feel like this is the new era of PC gaming. I would expect something between 16 and 17.

I had another SSX dream the other night (remind me why I post these ITT?).

I bought a PS4 and there was a Driveclub demo on the store, so I downloaded it and opened it up. There was this link in the menus to some DLC, so I clicked it and it was SSX DLC IDK WHY. Merqury City, Tokyo Megaplex, and Mesablanca were all remastered in HD and they were AMAZING. I was so pissed when I woke up. :heh

Your dream, or shall I say, vision suggests that there will be DLC exclusive to PS4? Sounds very likely actually. I can see why you dreamed that though. DriveClub has such beautiful vistas. I hope the next SSX will be just as beautiful or better.
