Hmm...maybe they ARE gonna do that Dallas 'shower scene' in the game; On Tour never existed! (it'd explain the ages, and why Psymon has similar hair (and tattoos) from SSX 3)

How about this -
In OnTour they needed the characters to be a BOSS character, so by setting it a few years ahead they make them older and wiser making them a tougher opponent with you playing the rookie part against the super pros.

If we want the characters back (which we have) then the've got to backtrack the timeline to before OT where they are still younger and they are still the contenders climbing the success ladder (up to BOSS/super pro status). OT is like the future handover marker for a new band of rookies to takeover.

Who knows SSX6 (if set after OT?) might have a completely new crew leaving SSX5 possibly the last time we might have the characters we love as the main contenders before being cast as the unlockable extras in a lodge menu like in ssx3.

Anyways, here's how I see how EA saw it...

"Lessee... On Tour sucked ass guys... and both Tyson and Sid has an incredible low, low, LOW fanbase... Let's cut those two and bring back Griff and Moby since they both had a higher fanbase than Viggo..." lolz, would explain why Viggo isn't back and why Griff and Moby came back XD *I hate the fact that Griff is wearing his hoodie hood exclusively throughout the game though*
