SSX Blur Trailer - a few things i noticed

i thought id do some kind of analysis of the trailer...not that i think i know better than you lot or anything...just that im into this kinda thing (im a film studies student...im sad like that

)

1. the the guy who's voice announces 'EA Sports Big' has had his balls picked up off the floor by the sounds of it...suggests maybe a new drive behind EA???

2. chibi version of what appears to be Mac...a cool way to funk the series up??? i personally think it makes ssx look too cute when its suppsoed to be kick ass unforgivingness

3. recycled SSX3 mountain...i do hope they bring something new into the the mountain...ive ridden the SSX3 courses to death :glare

...although, this may mean the comeback of superpipe and big air events and seperate tracks for slopestyle!! :woot

in which case im all for it

4. funky new (slightly too hip hop for my liking) style HUD and good ol' electronica music...if EA still hasnt got how everyone has a different taste in music then they never will...hopefully theyll include decent music from all genres and a selection of differently themed HUDs

5. snow gathering on the character's clothing...nothing to analyse here...just looks damn cool :wink

6. return of the monster tricks...

i do hope theyve refined the camera angle and added so many more tricks since OT

7. wicked use of crazy blur effect and random pink music notes that appear to coming from the character...the blur effect was used reasonably well in OT to create a sense of speed but got boring and rather annoying after a while...this is a great way to spice it up

8. progression stays on 99% at the bottom...good to know theyre keeping the all peak races :woot

overall...im a little confused...this game already seems to be missing several brilliant things that ssx has had previously...however it does seem like a slight improvement on OT

When I looked at the trailer, I noticed the track looks EXACTLY like Happiness backcountry from SSX 3.

Well it looked screwed up, but I hope we could see a crossover with Sonic characters, it fits well with the chibi.

Bah, don't judge it too quickly. If the chibi characters are like SSX 3 in terms of personality, then it'll be a million times better than SSX On Tour no matter how chibi the characters are (and their bodies look decently proportioned so it should be a minor issue only.)

One thing that's always bothered me about the SSX series is its lack of GOOD unlockables. With the exception of a few of the characters in SSX3, most things are garbage.
What I want to see is ALL the characters from ALL the games come back either as stock characters or unlockables.
Oh, what I wouldn't pay to see Luther fly down a mountain at breakneck speed, again.

I doubt that the game would be chibi...it's just not SSX.

I bet $23.60 Cdn that it was a mii.

chibi is the cutesy version of anime you see - when the proportions are more squat and cuter, that's chibi. Generally more stunted limbs too, and larger heads. :yes
