Dude, I totally helped name this game. On the EA survey, AND on a post somewhere, I said it. It was quickly refused by our oh-so faithful members. But I feel somewhat proud. Still, I think the names is Pretty crap-ish. Irony.

It looks pretty good, Im sure to buy it anyways.

Yeah, that doesn't say very much. Maybe the trick system is done by twirling the remote around? That's all I get from that. :heh

If that's basically what they're releasing tomorrow, they'd might as well not bother, cuz it doesn't tell us very much for a game that's only four months away. :heh

When I saw that 1up.com story, and saw that it stated absolutely nothing new, I knew that's what the Gamespot story would be.

I'm not sure what to think about the lack of details on anything yet. It could be EA hedging their bets trying to build up fervor for the game, or it could be they're trying to keep from saying that the game is just a rehash with a new control scheme - something we're all thinking but don't want to believe. :shrug

yeah, i don't really know what to make of it... i guess we'll just have to wait and see. but for me to buy it, it has to be pretty much a completely new game. i'm not spending 300$ for a slightly altered SSX 3 for some new console... :dead

yea I don't get why you're always trying to take credit for it, I don't think anyone has said it's a good name.

It's not that interesting. And the fact that they say "SSX remixed" etc. doesn't exactly boost my hopes for new courses in the game.

Haven't lost faith yet though! [Remembering the time when I was so hopeful about SSX On Tour...]

Boy, it's amazing what you can see when you view the direct feed trailer from Gametrailers:

Now you can see hi-res what the game looks like, and it looks pretty good - the little purple things you see coming off the character are musical notes, which is an neat effect, since it's used to denote the level of boost you've achieved so far.

They seem to insist that "SSX Blur is everything you expect from the franchise, delivered in a totally unexpected way", but what most people expect is a brand-new, cross-platform, proper SSX 5, yet they are also saying they "wanted to take the soul of the franchise — the air, the speed, the tricks, the fun — and Wii-ify it", indicating that it's neither brand-new, cross-platform, nor a proper SSX 5.

That higher-res vid is nicer and makes me feel a bit better about the graphics, even though graphics are not a huge deal for me.

Again, stoked on the earlier SSX-style music.

The graphic on the base of his board looks a lot like a Santa Cruz snowboard logo, so I wouldn't be surprised if sponsors are back. I could care less - as long as EA Big supplies enough non-sponsor bolt-ons, that's fine by me.

Totally agree jzmster - as long as the characters are customizable, I don't mind sponsor stuff. For some reason the design on the board I think I've seen before, but I'm not sure where.

If you think the character looks like Griff, it's because he's got an orange hat on, with headphones on top. It's Mac as far as I can tell (who else should it be?)

Hey. Just noticed at 0:35 of the trailer, there's a mysterious blue arc drawn above the dude's head. It's right as he takes off on the jump and exactly as his trick starts. Kinda looks like a Wii-mote-pointer-trail to me. Anyone else?

So yeah, I feel like I'm repeating myself - I don't like the chibi. I liked the previous character designs. NOT OLD, previous.

Yeah, looked up 66's suggestion, and it is is Santa Cruz board.

I also was just lookin at it, and does anyone know what this could possibly be?

Also, someone may have said this, but is it possible we may be back at Big Mountain? The trailer shows what is obviously Happiness and Atomika is back? Just a thought.

Yeah, my inclination is those things lead to some other side thing, like BIG challenges. There's one at the top of the hill in the very beginning, too.
