well from the trailer and what they showed on judgement day, they have changed some stuff, like i remeber a huge totem pole and a huge gorilla on a couple tracks, and they showed part of crows nest i think on JD and it had these trippy looking multipliers on it, but i am not sure if the actual tracks have new routes or anything like that!!

I have Both.
SSX on the PSP is nice (old ssx3 tracks)
Has the same glitches as SSX3.
Its also nice that its possible to change from board to ski. (same character)

The kids like the one on the PSP more.
Its not nice that you have to use firmware 2.0 on the PSP
Now i am busy downgrading and upgrading all the time.

You can play all tracks at day and night. I saw in a video Crow's Nest at night and it looked really neat!

Is that right? I heard it was only GTA and Socom that needed a genuine 2.0.

Did you try the WAB version changer?

You can find it here

Ok I finally got to play it and here a more detailed review.

Portable SSX's havent been really good as the console version since I bought SSX Tricky for the GBA and played the console version I knew that i might not expect much of SSX On Tour for the PSP. But I was wrong. As the console version you have to make a CCAC (Crappy Create a Character) you cant really change the face, height or skin tone so your stuck with what you got. They give you outfits with stat add on's like +1 Spin.

Now this game should have been called SSX 3, because none of the OT console courses appear in the game at all. You have every track from SSX 3 except Metro City and Intimidator which made me upset cuz after I played the old courses after awhile cuz I wanted to hit up Metro. Not really much has changed with the courses no new shortcuts like Tricky just a few new signs, some things taken out, and some extra buildings and big animals.

The since the PSP doesn't have L2,R2, and the right analog stick i thought some tricks wouldn't make it over. Stalefish, Method, Indy, Mute, Shifty, and there tweaks are there but where you least expect them. The four grab buttons are R, Square, Triangle, and Circle while the L is to tweak and do ubers. Which is kinda hard cuz I still cant get it out of my head that Square isnt tweak. And square is boost and circle is handplant. Now the one sure thing I though wouldn't make it was to do board press, but its in the just hold down/up and triangle and you can hold a combo.

Audio is great you have all the songs from the console version of SSX OT. And there is no voice acting at all which might be a good thing since the console version killed our favorite characters. Every character from the console version is in here except the secret characters. And Zoe's hair style from the Original SSX is in the PSP version.

Now its basically same as the consle, become number 1 on the leaderboard. You have shred events and challenges but it's not really hard. You can switch between board and skis if you want, but you have to switch if you want to get every gold medals.

Overall SSX On Tour for the PSP is the best SSX portable ever. If you liked SSX 3 like me, you should give it a try. And honestly I had more fun playing the PSP version then the console. But the only thing your gonna be disappointed is the fact there is no Metro City or Intimidator, and the controls are hard to get use too. And so far I havent found a worm hole but the select warps are still there and doing a 180 after a monster trick is there as well.

9.5/10 for me.

Make sure you get one with firmware 2.0 or less. If they're hard to find, it's because they're well worth the effort :wink

It can be difficult to tell for sure, but this is probably the best reference I've seen.

http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/about14615.html

As to why you should try to find one, just look around the same site for the low down.

Ignoring the fact that a lot of the people on the forum are assholes, all of the more important stuff they say is 100% true.
