3-4 seconds could still be shaved off MTG though
(I have a different beginning which saves about a second and the end saves close to 3 seconds if done correctly) so sub-3 min is definitely within reach.
My checkpoint is the last turn in the transition area before HB, and my PR there is 1:49,( i think u have 1:52), and i can still improve my MTG, but i can never get my half-banked right!
BTW, the OTR vid doesnt work for me. Is it just me or do others have the same problem?
Ok, i'll upload the vid again
Yousendit.com has been fucking up a lot lately.
Whoa, i'm really curious as to your line where you save 4 secs on MTG. At the end i think i know where your talking about. You cut to the right instead of crossing the finish line i think..and a select trick also can be used there i believe. But it's not easy getting over to that are with the rails and all in your way
A second in the beginning being saved
My beginning looked pretty damn near to perfect.
With that line you can get to 3:03 on perfection as my MTG was about .70 slow and my half banked was about 1.5 secs slow.
edit- here's the 0TR 1:36.66 vid

Here's a video of my line in MTG:
WARNING: it is one of the worst clips you will ever see.
http://s10.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0N4X ... W4IZE6GYBF
first of all, im very sorry about the size of the clip, i dont know how to compress the vid, i filmed it on a camera and i couldnt find where to adjust the settings.
I compared this to Ice's 3:05.28 vid of MTG B2B. I gain a second in the first 30 seconds. Then I lose that near the helicopter pads due to my ineptness. I finish at the two slow signs a second ahead of him, but as you can see there is a LOT of room for improvement. I didnt bother taking any risks in that run since i got so frustrated crashing for no apparent reason
I stopped in the middle of the transition area because
1. i suck at HB and didnt want to embarrase myself
2. it would have made the vid huge- like 80MB...lol

cool, i didn't download the vid yet..but i'm about to
I tried mtg b2b again and got
3:02.33
edit- ouch eric! i'm not gonna download that vid since it would take me about 5-7hrs to download.
Anyways, i just polished my beginning to about a half- to sec faster and fixed the ending of MTG. was at 1:52 sec mark on my 3:05 vid at 1:48-49 on the 3:02 but was a little shaky on HB. Whatever...enough OT

I don't use a digital camera or web cam...i use a capture card and record my vids on my vcr then capture the vid on my computer with Windows Movie Maker...doing it on WMM saves the file as a mpg/wmv file so it's already compressed.

Nice vids man. Seems like you were right about selecting in between the trees on HL. You also do the ending a whole 300 ms faster than me by going under the rail perfectly and selecting more to the left.
And the end of OTR, that had me
as I would never have thought that that could be as much as 500 ms faster than the select!
Nice beginning there, it's similar to mine. About compressing the vid, you can use most video editing programs, or you can download a compressor. Just search for "video compression" at
www.download.com, for example.

I was trying to figure out what you were doing there at the end of Half-Banked tho

NOB that was a really nice Roadkill showoff run. You used just about every jump it had and you maxed almost each one out, that was awesome.
I'll upload it to the Master Runs in a few days.
