Mmm...I don't think he is wrong. Monsters slow time down more in Freestyle than in racing, but regardless, the slowdown in mid-air is considerable and it is much, much faster to simply rely on the first level of boost than waste the time in mid-air doing Monsters just to build your boost bar up a little faster.

But still, there's definately no slo-mo for monster rails, and many other people have won events without having to worry about slo-mo.

He's referring to monster tricks in the air they dont slow down time

I know, but you can still do monster rails without it 'tarding your run.
