Well, master runs are the essence (sp?) of this site so I'm guessing master runs will be released sooner or later...

ESSENTIAL?!?!?!?! Dude if there was no WHs and master runs in SSX3 it prolong its competition + more people would play it and actually like it. OK, just pop in the SSX3 CD and select one of the tracks for example SnowJam. Look at the variety of different lines you can think of. And that's all good until someone comes along and releases a master run, this automatically limits dozens of different lines to 1 line that everybody starts to use until another master run is released.

I know that. But what I meant was lots of people only come to this site because of the master runs that are released, so sooner or later master runs will end up being released imo...

I mean it's fine once the game is dead and stuff but if people try hard to come up with a unique line and one just releases a MR for everone to use than that person worked for no reason.

This can all be changed if people agree to not release vids and if Gondee makes some kind of restriction where if someone releases a vid they get banned. I don't know im just throwing out ideas.

Well, we discussed that like 2 weeks ago, I don't remember what was decided back then, I'll post the links in a while. :)

Edit: Here they are- http://merqurycity.com/ssx_forum/viewtopic.php?t=5360 and http://merqurycity.com/ssx_forum/viewtopic.php?t=5362

there is no law that says if i master run is released that u have to only take that line.

MrChaos wrote:

no. we did not all agree on that!!

if i have a run that i feel is worth watching i will release it immediately!

we've already been through all this though! and if i remember correctly, it really boils down to the individual and if they want to release a MR or not. Master Runs will by no means, not be allowed on the forum or anything like that!! so if u have a master run and u want to release it, then do it.

I think that's bs but w/e. I don't have much say in this. You wanna ruin the game, go ahead.

Dude...discuss it in some other thread.

Have you been bullshitting with a line for the 3:45 or do you think you have a solid base so far. I know it's way too early, but these levels are looking way too damn obvious so far for optimal lines.

wow, even with the size and diversity of these new courses u think that the optimal lines are obvious!!? well thats amazing. i don't know about racing, but i think that the best freestyle lines are light years from obvious!!

Good score anyway.. :pimp

Yep... Got the Merq board 3rd day (Friday.)

6.9 Hot Dam :D

As always, I am taping what I do, but won't be releasing them yet as we all agreed no master runs until Dec or Jan..

Is this on just that single course, or does the event spill into the other courses also??? And if it is just that course, tell me how to do it, and I'll try to compete there.

I think this was to me. No real line, starting to get a sense of where to go, but no line on that course. Only lines I've kinda worked on are with B&E, Higher Learning (demo course) and a little with Half Banked. Not working on any style as I don't plan to compete, unless I warm to it more. It just doesn't excite me. Gonna be fun when the top racers here start posting some times. Something to chase.

Igloo, what was your best time on Higher Learning on the demo?

1:11.60, but the actual game is naturally faster with merq board. Seems to be about 3-4 seconds faster over the entire course.

Yea, that makes sense... good time either way though.

Do you eventually unlock a single race for every course?

For what it's worth on the Master Runs (take it to the MR topic after this) I'm not going to release any for at least a few weeks, because I don't feel like I know the tracks well enough.

That Merq board is proving hard to get, seems like cash is hard to come by for me.

Thats why I'm asking Chaos how he is doing "Hot Dam".

I haven't unlocked everything, but I don't think every course section is available by itself. I'm not sure what actually constitutes a "course". Higher Learning, for example, has one short course that ends where the demo does, but then another longer course that adds the next section to it. Both are still called Higher Learning.

i think if u look at the map for past events, that u can go to higher learning, and it will have two different slopestyle events, with two different names, one is the box set slopestyle, and i think there is another one called 45 slopestyle or back 2 back slopestyle...so same course, but clearly different events, so people will have to be specific when posting scores!! for istance, don't just post higher learning 5 million, u gotta post Higher learning box set slopestyle!! make sense!!?

I go to the map screen, select an event (forgot which it was called) and select Hot Dam.. It gives you three attempts merging your three scores together for one score.. Hence the 6.9..

well im at rank 8 on tour right now and when i finish hopefully tonite..records will start pouring out :heh but yeah..not too excited about the single track event of higher learning(demo version)..well cuz its basically the same as the demo version and the line is pretty well maxed there.

But the other courses especially the big ones will have to take some time to sit down and examine since they are gigantic. I just bought all the tricks/monsters so freestyle took a little step up for me..cuz i thougth it was complete shit at the beginning.

Anyong hate the back2back pipe on compilation..or whatever it is called.
Everytime i'm doing fuckin amazing i hit one of them pole thingies and crash..ea fuckin with your mind there :frusty

all you have to do is stick to the beggining after the first pole and before the little pipe on top. I haven't really tried it but i will soon when im done with SS.

Anyway since im posting I'll update.

White Knuckles - 1,011,590
